Sustainability

Energy efficiency logistics. We are part of the project.

Can a transport and logistics company today still afford not to think ecologically? Klumpp + Müller has answered this question with a clear “no” and has decided on a cooperation-wide determination of greenhouse gas emissions (Network Carbon Footprint, NCF). The cooperation collects a greenhouse gas inventory according to ISO 14064 or Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG), which is validated by an independent certifier.

For this reason, Klumpp + Müller does not use the common model of determining emissions on the basis of theoretical reference values, but instead uses real values that are divided into three areas: Transport, administration at the system headquarters and in the partner companies, and stationary processes.

Sustainability

Future-oriented:
We take climate protection seriously

The expansion of our container terminal in 2023 will enable us to transport up to 20,000 containers a year by rail or ship. Dadurch werden unsere LWK überwiegend für die letzte Meile eingesetzt. In addition, by modernizing the vehicle fleet, we were able to reduce fuel consumption by 15%, as well as increase the technical payload from 28 to 40 tons.
With the conversion of the lighting to LED, we were also able to reduce our electricity consumption by 20%.

Car fleet: conversion to electric
Raw material savings through consistent tire management
paperless dispatch
7500 sqm photovoltaic plant
-20% Power consumption
Consistent waste separation: ISO 14001

For the region

Lotte+Dieter Klumpp Foundation. Since 2012.

As part of the long-term succession planning for the company, the Lotte and Dieter Klumpp Foundation is established in 2012. This step is intended to anchor the family’s long-standing social commitment and the public benefit of its assets beyond the death of the founders.
