Klumpp + Müller: Lotte & Dieter Klumpp Stiftung

Lotte and Dieter Klumpp have no biological descendants.
In view of this, they intend to allow their assets to permanently benefit the common good upon their death at the latest and to set up a foundation for this purpose during their lifetime in order to actively shape its structures, mission statement and funding principles. Mr. and Mrs. Klumpp also wanted the foundation’s assets to include Mr. Dieter Klumpp’s majority shareholdings in Klumpp und Müller GmbH & Co KG, Kehl, and its general partner company, Klumpp Verwaltungsgesellschaft mbH, Kehl. The economic prosperity of Klumpp und Müller has always played a central role in the lives of the founders. In order to sustainably promote the economic performance of the foundation in this way, its bodies should feel committed to the long-term well-being of the company as a whole when helping to shape the structures and business policy of the company in the future, even after the death of the founders, and should make their decisions and take measures to the best of their knowledge and belief, if possible in the interests of the founders.

Dieter Klumpp

Dieter Klumpp had been managing director of the Kehl-based logistics company Klumpp + Müller since 1975. He was a child of his time: direct in his approach, decisive in his management of the company, but always responsible and helpful in his dealings with the people around him, both in business and in his private life.
A doer who never pretended, who was unpretentious and approachable. Long before the new German term “hands-on mentality” came into fashion, he met life’s challenges with a pragmatic, hands-on approach instead of getting lost in big words and abstract concepts. Even when Dieter Klumpp had to retire due to illness in the last phase of his life, he was still as present as ever as a leader, especially in his company. At the same time, he wanted to transfer his spirit to the foundation he co-initiated: to support or help people in need without making a big fuss about it.

Lotte Klumpp

Lotte Klumpp herself has been firmly anchored in the Klumpp + Müller company since the 1970s. She was far more than an emotional support to her late husband Dieter over their many years together, not only in their private lives but also in his professional work. They shared the conviction that the family, down-to-earth DNA of the company had to be preserved, and each of them had their very own role to play. Lotte Klumpp’s particular concern was and is a great empathy for the personal concerns of the employees, an active social awareness and the interpersonal tones that significantly shape the character of every company. As a member of the Board of Trustees and through her many years of commitment to charitable causes, Lotte Klumpp represents the spirit of the founders in a special way. With her warm nature, she has the ability to meet people without reservation or prejudice and has a clear eye for the concerns and needs of people with whom fate (or one could also use the word life instead of fate) has not been so kind.
