Full enthusiasm for e-trucks: ‘I don’t want to drive anything else’

Frank Harms, a professional driver at haulage company Klumpp + Müller, switched to an electric lorry in April this year and can’t imagine switching back to another vehicle. The numerous advantages that he experiences during his breaks and waiting times on company visits convince him anew every day. He particularly appreciates the peace and quiet that the electric lorry offers, as it is virtually silent even when in operation – a significant advantage when it comes to using the air conditioning or heating without causing a noise nuisance.

Harms emphasises the reliability of the electric drive: every morning the battery is reliably charged to 100%, which gives him the confidence to complete his routes without range anxiety. He finds the driving characteristics of the electric lorry remarkable, as they are no different from those of a diesel lorry, whether on straight stretches, in bends or when braking.

Harms also emphasises the high safety standard of the electric vehicles, equipped with modern assistance systems such as cruise control, lane assist and distance control. The reversing camera also makes it easier for him to manoeuvre in driveways without the need for a second man to guide him.

Environmental awareness is also a decisive factor for Harms. The fully electric lorry helps to protect the environment, and thanks to the photovoltaic system at Klumpp + Müller, the vehicle is charged with green electricity. Harms is convinced of the advantages of the electric lorry and recommends the switch without reservation.
